Biography
Dr Anand Tana is currently completing a Clinical Research Fellowship at the Royal Brompton Hospital and PhD in Interventional Pulmonology with Imperial College London. He qualified at St George’s University of London and trained in Respiratory Medicine in the North-West Thames Deanery.
Dr Tana research activities are related to bronchoscopic treatment approaches in COPD and has been involved in the set up and delivery of first in human studies, mechanistic studies and pivotal trials. He has clinical and research experience in endobronchial valves and aeriseal sealant for emphysema, targeted lung denervation for COPD and cryospray and pulsed electrical field therapy for chronic bronchitis.
His interests extend to the utility of bronchoscopy in lung cancer, particularly in the role of EBUS-tBNA, radial EBUS and robotic guided navigational bronchoscopy in improving lung cancer diagnosis, as well as the development of tumour ablation techniques.
Outside of respiratory medicine, he has keen interest in learning and development with extensive experience in both undergraduate and post graduate medical education.
