Biography

Professor Erik van der Heijden is a pulmonologist and Professor of Interventional Pulmonology at Radboud University Medical Centre (Radboudumc) in the Netherlands, specializing in advanced, minimally invasive techniques for early lung cancer diagnosis and treatment.

He leads research in image-guided, AI-driven navigation bronchoscopy and robot-assisted procedures, including innovative, real-time 3D laser imaging.

He has contributed to numerous scientific publications and is actively involved in clinical trials focusing on the safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of new diagnostic tools.
