Biography
Phan Nguyen is head of unit of the Department of Thoracic Medicine, Royal Adelaide Hospital in South Australia, Australia. He leads the interventional pulmonology service and is chair of the lung cancer multidisciplinary meeting. He is on the continued education committee of the World Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (WABIP), Central Congress Committee of the Asia
Pacific Society of Respirology (APSR) and head of the Bronchoscopy and Interventional Techniques Assembly of the APSR. Phan also serves as Senior Editor for Respirology and Associate Editor of Respirology Case Reports. His contribution to the fields of lung cancer and IP in Australia have had him recognised with fellowship of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand, and as a Lung
Health Legend award recipient of the Lung Foundation of Australia for 2025. His research interests include lung cancer diagnostics, molecular pathology and staging, and lung volume reduction with endobronchial valves having established a public funded LVR program for the patients of South Australia and its adjacent territories.
